Kidney disorder is diseased state of kidney which Gradually results the Failure of kidney .
Laparoscopy
It is a minimally invasive alternative to standard open surgery in
which a special camera called a laparoscope is used to produce an inside view of the abdominal cavity, also called "keyhole" or "band-aid" surgery, laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure because it requires several small (1/2- to 1-inch) incisions rather than a single large one in the abdomen.
Laparoscopic surgery can be used for the following urologic procedures:
- Radicalnephrectomy for cancer (Removal of the entire kidney)
- Radical nephroureterectomy for cancer (Removal of the entire kidney and the ureter which connects to the bladder)
- Partial nephrectomy for cancer (Removal of only part of the kidney)
Kidney
cancer and tumors
Laparoscopic surgery can be
used for the following urologic procedures:
- Removal of the entire kidney- Radical Neprectomy.
- Removal of the entire kidney and the ureter which connects to the bladder - Radical nephroureterectomy for cancer
- Partial nephrectomy for cancer (Removal of only part of the kidney)
- Radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer (Removal of the prostate for cancer)
- Live donor nephrectomy for transplantation
- Pyeloplasty for ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJ obstruction)
- Ureteral surgery for stones or strictures
- Pelvic lymph node dissection

Removal
of kidney
Nephrectomy is a surgical
practice to remove all or part of a kidney:
- Complete nephrectomy - During a complete (radical) nephrectomy, the surgeon removes the entire kidney.
- Partial nephrectomy – Removal of a small tumor, keeping the remainder of kidney intact.
Laparoscopic
nephrectomy surgery takes approximately
2 to 2-1/2 hours, and the hospital stay is usually just overnight,
even for large tumors.
Removal of
kidney may be done by a open surgery or by means of laproscopical
surgery. Laparoscopic surgery
involves smaller incisions and has a faster recovery time. Recovering
from a nephrectomy can take
several weeks. It may be very painful.
